About BNI

How would you like to get more business for yourself, while at the same time prevent your competitors from doing the same?

If so, BNI is for you! BNI sets up groups of business people with only one representative from each trade or profession in a group. These groups (called chapters) meet on a regular basis for only one purpose – for the members to pass each other business. BNI trains its chapters to be extremely effective at finding business for the members. BNI operates on the principle of 'Givers Gain' – if I find business for you, you will want to find business for me.

Networking requires commitment. The most successful chapters of BNI are composed of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. BNI chapters provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment for men and women to develop their business through word of mouth recommendations and networking skills.

 

Who can join?

If you are in business, an individual or a company, emerging or established, BNI could be for you. Do note though, only one trade or profession (discipline) can belong to each Group.

 

How does a meeeting work?

BNI meetings are structured to give members the maximum opportunity of building trust and understanding about each other’s businesses – for everyone’s benefit. The objective is to ensure that members are confident to refer colleagues to their contacts beyond the chapter, and are able to recognise opportunities for each other.

After informal networking, members have the opportunity to present their needs to each other, asking for the connections that will benefit their business, whether to clients or businesses with whom they have a synergy.

Meetings feature a 10-minute spotlight on one member, enabling them to describe their business in more depth or develop understanding in other ways.

Each meeting ends with a referral and feedback session, where people pass their business contacts to each other, followed by more informal networking.
